ABOUT #INNOVATEHER 2017

 

 

Your woman owned business is ready to take off in 2017 and we have the perfect runway!

 

#IgniteWA is proud to announce that we have been selected by the SBA to host the Washington State #INNOVATEHER Business Pitch Competition on May 16th at the Bellevue City Hall. Once you win our competition you will qualify for the national competition on July 31st to compete for three cash prizes totaling $70,000! 

 

After you fill out the application below, the IgniteWA team will review applicants and select 10 to participate at the May 16th pitch competition.  At the end of the night, winners will be announced, awarded cash and prizes then qualified for the finals. 

 

As part of the competition, you'll learn how to package your business idea so that investors want to support it, and practice pitching your business idea to real angel investors.  In this dynamic business planning and pitch training, you'll learn how to evaluate your business model and how to pitch your business to judges and investors. 

 

More good news! By filling out the application your business automatically qualifies to participate in a new and exciting woman exclusive community and online marketplace powered by the Lady 12 organization details to follow. 

 

We know that our workforce looks very different from 50 years ago. Women now makeup nearly half of the labor force and play a critical role in our nation’s economic prosperity. Most children live in households where all parents work. And as our population ages, families are increasingly caring for aging parents while balancing the needs of work and home. As demands on women and families grow, the need for products and services that address unique challenges increases. This Challenge provides that platform.

Key Dates:

  • Pitch Preparation & Rehearsal ($50 per person) - May 9th, 1-3pm, Extraslice, Bellevue

  • Pitch Submission - May 10th, 2017 by 12pm PST

  • Top 10 pitches announced - May 12th - via email and social media

  • Final Pitch Competition: May 16th, 5 pm to 9 pm at Bellevue City Hall

  • The clinic will be held in one session at ExtraSlice late April (announcing soon). 

  • Business Pitch Competition will be held on May 16th, 2017 at Bellevue City Hall.

    • Date: May 16th, 2017

    • Time: 5:00 to 8:30 pm

    • Location: Bellevue City Hall: 450 110th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004  (Room: Chamber Conference Hall)

    • For Entrepreneursuers, the competition itself is free.  If you go on to the national level competition, a business plan is required.
